How going meat-free one day a week can help 1.4 billion animals

Today’s not just Halloween, but also Meatless Monday. If you think ghouls, goblins, witches, and werewolves are frightening, thinking about what life must be like for the 10+ billion animals raised and killed for Americans’ dinner plates every year will really scare you.

To highlight the benefits of Meatless Monday to animals, the environment, and our health, the Humane Society of the United States put together this three-minute video. It’s a fun way to share the message with your family and friends who may have questions about why you’re going meat-free.

If we all went meatless on Mondays, we could spare an estimated 1.4 billion animals from the horrors of factory farming every year. That would be a treat to say the least, and a real scare to the meat industry.
